40kN Fall Rescue Big 8 Aluminum Descender with Bent-Ears Rappelling Gear Belay Device
The ears prevent the rope from sliding and locking up, which makes it a much safer and more versatile device. The body allows for more control while descending or belaying with a heavy load
Adjustable Descent Rate
The Figure 8 Descender keeps the line from an inadvertently girth-hitching uppermost bar, stranding climber. Center hole doubles as a belay plate. The end slot is for attaching carabiners for more safety.
Large Main Slot
The main slot is big enough for the operator to double or triple the single rope to increase friction. Hence, the operator is able to slow or stop descent with minimum force.
Bigger 8 is a Safer 8
This is a big, stout, "rescue 8" type descender. Very nicely made, with NO visible defects of ANY kind, including the anodizing, which is even and deep. Big ears with a good hook down and the major center opening are slightly oval led toward the top, which helps keep the device from upsetting. Smooth contours and the size makes for easy handling. ... This is an excellent buy. USR carries the Pro-Line stainless rescue 8 as well, which is great for sandy and gritty conditions or where weight is not a factor.
Best Suitable for:
Climbing, rappelling, rigging aerial silk, applying significant friction to rope, & controlling rope sliding speed
